Two Maoists surrender
A woman member of CPI Maoist Area Committee Gemmeli Bando alias Kamala alias Rasso of Toomulova hamlet under the limits of Boodaralla Panchayat, Koyyuru mandal and Vantala Salu alias Balaiah, Galikonda Dal member of Chukkugoyyi hamlet under the limits of G K Veedhi Panchayat surrendered themselves in the presence of Superintendent of Police Koya Praveen here on Friday.
Visakhapatnam: A woman member of CPI Maoist Area Committee Gemmeli Bando alias Kamala alias Rasso of Toomulova hamlet under the limits of Boodaralla Panchayat, Koyyuru mandal and Vantala Salu alias Balaiah, Galikonda Dal member of Chukkugoyyi hamlet under the limits of G K Veedhi Panchayat surrendered themselves in the presence of Superintendent of Police Koya Praveen here on Friday.
Giving details about the surrendered members, Praveen informed that when Gemmeli Bando was found using a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), while working in the Maoist Area Committee, the government had announced a reward of Rs four lakh on her head.
He said that Bando had joined the movement as armed militia member in the Galikonda Dal between 2007 and 2008 and later worked as Kalimela Dal Member in the Malkangiri area by changing her name as Rasso from 2008 to 2010. In between 2010 and 2013, she was appointed as Jana Natya Mandali member in the Malkangiri Area Committee from where she was shifted to the Koraput Area Committee.
