Schools, colleges brace for rush
Educational institutions in the capital region are gearing up to accommodate the children of State government employees as the government decided to shift nearly ten thousand employees to Amaravati capital in a phased manner starting from June.

It may be noted that the State government has taken a decision on Monday to shift four thousand employees in June, followed by three thousand employees in July and August as the construction of Secretariat building is completed in June and start function from Amaravati capital.
Sensing the demand several private educational institutions started opening international schools and expansion of their educational institutions in the capital region of both Vijayawada and Guntur cities. Several international schools started functioning from the outskirts of Vijayawada city.
Speaking to The Hans India District Education Officer Subba Reddy said that though no fresh applications received for new schools the existing institutions are likely to meet the demand. Former MLC and Educationist Chigurupati Varaprasad said that the private educational institutions are ready to accommodate the children of State government employees. He said that the demand for admissions in lower classes may be more.
Meanwhile, the members of CREDAI also made it clear that housing infrastructure is available in capital region of Vijayawada and Guntur cities and nearly 15,000 flats are nearing completion and will be ready-for-occupation by June and ruled out dearth of housing facility in the capital region.
It is said that the employees shifting to Amaravati capital would prefer to settle down in Guntur or Vijayawada cities, there would be no problem. In addition, the housing activity in suburban villages also increased to accommodate more number of people. Meanwhile, several HoD’s are also planning to shift their offices to capital region and searching for necessary accommodation. Some of the Ministers have already started working in Vijayawada city and set up their camp offices at various places in capital region.
