Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday categorically stated that it was not in a position to fill up all the vacancies in the government sector. Stating this in the State Assembly, Minister for Finance Y Ramakrishnudu said that it was a fact that there were thousands of jobs lying vacant in the government sector but the financial crisis the government was facing after bifurcation had made it difficult to fill up the vacancies.

“There is no plan to fill up all government jobs now,” he said. According to Ramakrishnudu majority of the revenue was going towards payment of salaries and pensions. The minister said in spite of financial crunch, the government has decided to fill up about 20,000 vacancies and the notification for the same would be issued soon. The filling up of government jobs would be need based.
