Congress meeting a dumb squid
The district Congress leaders failed in making success of a public meeting which was held here on Friday. No existing prominent party leader took part in the meeting except APCC President N Raghuveera Reddy and DCC President Venugopala Reddy.

The local Congress leadersmade a futile attempt to mobilise students of certain educational institutions for making public meeting a success. With the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, several loyal party leaders, who were with the Congress for the last 30 years, have defected to other political parties just before the general elections. Notable among them are Galla Aruna Kumari and Dr Kuthuhalamma. The Congress completely routed in the Assembly, Zilla Parishad and municipal polls. The existing DCC leaders are finding it difficult even to fill party posts at mandal-level. The district party leaders were unable to meet people as they are not in a position to explain as to why the Congress had divided the united State.
During the meeting, the APCC chief came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to fulfil poll promises including granting of special category status to truncated Andhra Pradesh.
He exuded confidence of Congress coming to power in Centre and State by next general elections. But, the Congress party may not forge an alliance with the YSRCP in the future because of its national policy. Leaders belonging to other political parties are not interested to join Congress as party’s poll prospects are bleak.
