ONGC pumps water to quench Bandar's thirst
On request from Krishna District Collector, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset has extended help to supplement the efforts of Andhra Pradesh State Government in filling the Tarakaturu Summer Storage Tank in Machlipatnam in Krishna district.
Rajamahendravaram: On request from Krishna District Collector, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset has extended help to supplement the efforts of Andhra Pradesh State Government in filling the Tarakaturu Summer Storage Tank in Machlipatnam in Krishna district.
ONGC has set up high-speed diesel motor pumps of 175hp at Sultanpur and laid a 600 meters water pipeline of 8 inch to carry water into the storage tank. These motor pumps are pumping 2, 88,000 gallons of water per hour. A team of employees of ONGC is camping in bunk house and monitoring the pumping operation 24 hours a day without break.
In March last, the company has undertaken a similar exercise for nearly sixty days in Siddantam in West Godavari district to cater to the water needs of standing crops.
