The World Consumers’ Rights Day will be conducted at the Port Kalavani Auditorium on Wednesday as an official programme to create awareness among consumers about their rights if they get inferior quality goods or deficiency in service.

Visakhapatnam: The World Consumers’ Rights Day will be conducted at the Port Kalavani Auditorium on Wednesday as an official programme to create awareness among consumers about their rights if they get inferior quality goods or deficiency in service. State Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha, local Ministers Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao, president of State Consumers Redressal Cell Justice Naushad Ali, MPs and MLAs will attend the event.

District Civil Supplies Officer Nirmalabai said here on Tuesday that Secretary of Civil Supplies R Karikala Valavan, Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation K Ramgopal, Director of Civil Supplies G Ravibabu, Collector N Yuvaraj and other officials will participate.
She urged the leaders of all Consumers’ Protection Cells, Consumer Councils and public to attend the programme. She said that before questioning the trader or an entrepreneur in case of deficiency in service, a consumer must learn about his rights and responsibilities.
