Celestial wedding in Chenchu hamlets

The Chenchus of Nallamala celebrated the Sri Rama Navami with pomp and fervour. The tribals of this Nallamala region performed Kalyanam (celestial wedding) of Lord Sri Rama and Sita at the Rama temple in Chenchu hamlet of Nagaluti on Friday. This event was organised by Vasudeva Reddy, president of Sri Vivekananda Smaraka Samithi.
Atmakur: The Chenchus of Nallamala celebrated the Sri Rama Navami with pomp and fervour. The tribals of this Nallamala region performed ‘Kalyanam’ (celestial wedding) of Lord Sri Rama and Sita at the Rama temple in Chenchu hamlet of Nagaluti on Friday. This event was organised by Vasudeva Reddy, president of Sri Vivekananda Smaraka Samithi.
The wedding clothes were presented on behalf of Lord Siva, from the Siva temple. Vedic scholar Vishnuvardhan Acharyulu performed the celestial wedding with all customs and rituals as Chenchu Lingaswamy for bride and Garagayya for groom led the ceremony. In several other places, the celestial wedding was organised with pomp and gaiety in Lord Rama temples.
