Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Cycle Club, the Vivekananda Youth Association, the Andhra Pradesh Journalists Forum (APJF), in coordination with APNGOs are going to organise a mega cycle rally to promote the benefits of cycling as well as to raise awareness on the environment pollution. The rally will be held on May 8 from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on MG Road.

According to a release, the cycle rally was planned for a stretch of 15 kilometers covering Benz Circle, Ramvarappadu and Police Control Room before it ends at the starting point. The programme was a part of the ‘Happy Hour’ programme, which was initiated by the government to encourage public to gather and take out a physical activity.

The rally also spreads out the message of quitting motor vehicles for a day in a week and travel by bicycles or other public transportation. Respect for bicycle users and encouraging cycling as a regular activity is need of the hour to enhance the physical fitness and save money, said the organisers.
