Rajamahendravaram: The State government is committed to extend best medical services at the government hospitals on par with private hospitals, said District Collector H Arun Kumar here on Friday.
Addressing the Hospital Development Society meeting, he said “It is the responsibility of doctors and para-medical staff to extend service to patients and create confidence among public.”
He said the State government is planning to update the technology on par with that of corporate hospitals. He was all praise for corporates who are stepping up their activities under the corporate social responsibility (CSR). He said considering the bleak financial situation in the wake of the bifurcation, the managements of different industries are volunteering to give their support. The Collector also stressed the need for greater involvement of ONGC, GAIL, Reliance and Cairn Energy in the process of creating basic infrastructure especially in rural areas. Development of school facilities, roads, augmented drinking water supply and other needs are going to assume greater importance in the coming days in the CSR activities.
He said the State government would fill vacancies in all government hospitals and added that 300 specialist doctors would be recruited soon. He said a dialysis unit would be set up in Rajamahendravaram Government General Hospital within three months.
He said that the blood bank which was set up in Government General Hospital here at a cost of Rs 60 lakh would be inaugurated on April 24. He said that veteran doctor Tetali Venkateswara Rao was appointed as chairman of Hospital Development Society (HDS).
Speaking on the occasion, the newly appointed chairman of HDS, Tetali Venkateswara Rao stressed the need for forging cordial relations between patients, their kith and kin and doctors. He said that the government hospitals would be developed on par with private hospitals and corporate medical facilities would be extended.
Medical superintendent T Ramesh Kishore said they would render necessary service to upgrade the hospital to suit the needs of patients thronging it. Resident Medical Officer J Padmasri said priority is to ensure that every government hospital in the State has adequate number of doctors and a full-fledged pharmacy attached to it.
