Kakinada: YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy will stage a dharna at East Godavari Collectorate here on Tuesday demanding special status to the State.
The Leader of Opposition is scheduled to arrive in the district in the morning where he would participate in the dharna for two hours between 11 am and 1 pm along with party leaders, MLAs and the party cadre.
Speaking to press persons here on Monday, party district unit president Kurasala Kannababu said that the party was organinsing the programme on a massive scale to highlight the failure of TDP government in securing the special status.
He also alleged that the TDP government had failed to get necessary funds for Polavaram project besides getting clearance for Visakhapatnam railway zone.
In order to highlight these issues and to inform the public about the failures of TDP, the protests are being organised, he said. Party leaders Ch Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, former MLA, D Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
