Visakhapatnam: Diversion of SC, ST Sub-Plan funds will not be tolerated, cautioned chairman of SC, ST Commission Karem Sivaji. During his maiden visit to the city on Wednesday, Sivaji informed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has nominated him as chairman of SC, ST Commission with a strong belief that justice would be done to poor Dalits and tribals. He assured that he would strive for the welfare of SCs and STs in the State.
Stating that there are many SC, ST backlog posts in various government departments, he said the posts would be filled shortly . “The Commission will safeguard the welfare of SCs and STs. It will not tolerate any type of atrocities against Dalits or STs and the official apathy of police in dealing with SC, ST atrocity cases. We will initiate steps to speed up redressal of such pending cases,” he explained. Earlier, City Congress SC cell chairman and former corporator Kollabattula Vengala Rao, met Sivaji. Assuring that any form of injustice to SC,s STs would not be tolerated, he said, “In case of any injustice meted out either to the SCs or STs, it should be brought to my notice immediately to
initiate action.”
