Visakhapatnam: The State government has granted Rs 13.57 crore for road repairs in the Agency areas that were badly damaged due to the Hudhud cyclone.
Basing on the proposals and estimates sent by Project Officer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) M Harinarayanan for road repair works, the government has now given the approval by granting the amount. The project officer told The Hans India on Thursday that a sum of Rs 277 lakh was sanctioned for the repair of roads from Paderu-Araku to Uppu hamlet via Santhari village in Hukumpet mandal, Rs 480 lakh for repair of road from Muchungiputtu mandal headquarters to Rudakota, Rs 240 lakh for the repair of of road from Cherakampakalu village to Ratnagiri Colony in Chintapalli mandal and Rs 360 lakh for Koyyuru-Boodarallu road in Koyyuru mandal.
He informed that a three-day orientation-cum-training programme on the latest education techniques for Mandal Praja Parishad School teachers of Agency area began at Paderu on Thursday with an aim to ensure the faculty equip with latest updates in the modern education system.
Harinarayanan has called upon the teachers to mould the tribal children by utilising the training tips and also to have a better command over the subjects they teach.
