Vijayawada: Prakasam Barrage will get inflows in a day or two, courtesy unexpected rains due to depression in Bay of Bengal and efforts by the district administration to get waters from Nagarjuna Sagar. The State government is trying to get four tmcft of water to the barrage from Srisailam.

The water will reach Sagar and later to Prakasam barrage reservoir. According to official sources, about 11,000 cusecs of water was released from Nagarjuna Sagar on Tuesday night and it will reach the barrage in one or two days. People living in over 150 villages in Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari districts will get drinking water if the barrage gets inflows.
