Criticise Manunathan Commission for doing nothing in 4 months

Amaravati: In order to include the Kapu community in the list of BCs as promised by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu earlier, Kapu leaders felt that there is a need to mount pressure on the Chief Minister now. This decision has been taken at the meeting held at the KKR Function Hall in Guntur city on Monday. The participants also decided that the government should name veteran Kapu leaders for schemes to be introduced by the Kapu Corporation.
Addressing the gathering, former MLA and Kapu leader Ambati Rambabu announced that though the Manjunathan Commission was formed four months ago to initiate process of including Kapus in the list of BCs, no terms and references have yet been given to the commission. Questioning its validity, he criticised that the commission of doing nothing till date while it has to submit its report within four months. Stating that the Chief Minister lacks sincere efforts to include Kapus in the list of reserved quota, he reminded that the Kapu community voted him to come to power.
Putting aside already sanctioned Rs 150 crore loans, Rambabu claimed that the government should release Rs 2000 crore to Kapu Corporation immediately. Kapu leader Kalyana Srinivasa Rao said that the government should name veteran Kapus like S V Ranga Rao, V Mohan Ranga and other prominent Kapu leaders for Kapu Bhavans in the district. He stressed on keeping unity among Kapus to achieve reserved status. Mentioning Kapus as the determining factor in the new state, he said that all political parties seek support of Kapus in election.
Guntur Urban Kapu Sangam president Y Nageswara Rao said that the Kapu Corporation would implement seven schemes form June 1.
Responding to suggestions from Kapu leaders, he asked them to submit their objections on names of the schemes to corporation chairman Ramanujayya. Kapu leaders Dasari Ramu, Mada Radha Krishna and Kavati Manohar Naidu were also present.
