  • Ramakrishna says Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been waxing eloquent on irrigation projects
  • Demands that the government to give suitable compensation for the displaced

Ramakrishna, who visited here to take part in training classes for agriculture workers, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been waxing eloquent on irrigation projects and even went to the extent of launching Kalva Nidra (an overnight stay at irrigation project sites), but not giving necessary clearances for execution of the project works, he alleged.

He demanded that the government release funds for project execution and give suitable compensation for the displaced. A special meeting will be convened in Guntur on Wednesday under the aegis of the Special Status Sadhana Samithi. He criticised the Centre for not granting Special Status to AP, dithering on implementing various components of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, not giving any categorical assurances on any issue besides not releasing funds to the State.

The Centre also adopted a negligent attitude towards the State on releasing funds to Polavaram even after declaring it as the national project. Various people’s organisations and intelligentsia will take part in the meeting to be held in Guntur. He threatened to launch stir on a large scale after June 10 once the schools and colleges are reopened after summer vacation.
