The last day of the meet has electrifying effect on the party cadres compared to the previous two days with impressive and though provoking speech of party National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, fiery address of TDP Telangana working president Revanth Reddy and the emotive concluding speech of Party Chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who spoke about 80 minutes.
Mahanadu sets a record in blood donation with 851, including TDP leaders and activists, donated blood in the blood donation camp organised by party Chittoor District Vaidya Vibhagam. The Chief Minster felicitated R Gayatri, a party member from Kadapa district, who donated blood in Mahanadi which is her 83rd blood donation.
The three-day meet saw the overwhelming response to Chandrababu Naidu appeal for the liberal donation to the party fund. As many as 380 persons donated Rs 11.55 core mostly to the party fund and some to Amaravati construction. A young boy Hemanth Sai from Ongole donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister which he earned through working on milk distribution.
Sai and his friends took up milk distribution to get money which they donated to Amaravati construction. Lauding the boy, Naidu hoped that his remarkable gesture would inspire much more young as well as other to contribute their mite for the capital city construction. On the last day, Mahanadu stage saw birthday celebrations of four TDP leaders, including Agriculture Minister P Pulla Rao, MLA M Venugopal Reddy, Rajendra Prasad and Ramesh Babu, who jointly cut a huge cake in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu and a host of party leaders.
The last day meet also saw Chandrababu losing his cool, picked over the faulty mike system. More than 10 times, Chandrababu expressed his displeasure over the public address system and openly rebuked the organisers. He said that such negligence will spoil the mood of the meeting and wanted the party functionaries not to repeat such blunder in future.
He observed that right from the day one of the meets, the mike system was not properly functioning and the defect was more glaring on the last day. “I am exhausted, I am forced to speak louder because of the fault in the mike,” he said. It is needless to say that the residents of more than 20 localities nearby Nehru Municipal High School and the patients going to the hospital nearby and last not the least a huge police force, which was on security duty, heaved a sigh of relief with the conclusion of Mahanadu.
The restrictions imposed by the police on the movement of vehicles caused inconvenience to the people.
