Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa accused Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham of provoking youth towards violence, but expressed hope that the youth was wise enough to keep away from his “trap”. Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, he hoped that the youth was well aware of what had happened in Tuni violence and would not allow Mudragada to repeat the same.

Questioning the motive of Mudragada for raising the Kapus’ issue now, he asked why the former had maintained silence on the issue for past several years. “He accuses TDP of not honouring commitments made to Kapus. Then why did he join the TDP and get elected as an MP in 1999 from Kakinada” he asked.

He said the State government, as promised, would conduct the survey of the community from June 1 to 30 and would submit the details to the Manjunatha Commission for the resolution of the issue. While reiterating that the TDP government was committed to the welfare of Kapus, he slammed Mudgrada for meeting Congress leaders recently. In the same breath, he accused Congress of doing nothing for the benefit of Kapus.
