Visakhapatnam: A reserve sub-inspector of AR wing of city police was attacked by a constable following a heated argument over petty issue at urban Tahsildar office in Seethammadhara area, here late on Tuesday night. The injured RSI was admitted to hospital and the accused was taken into custody.

According to ACP (East) A Narasimha Murthy, RSI Bhagawan went to MRO office for inspection, where he saw constable Ammoru negligent in duty and not guarding at the office. When the RSI decided to write remarks in sentry book, Ammoru entered into heated argument and asked him not to complain.

Later, he allegedly attacked RSI with the butt of the gun. Police said that injured Bhagawan was admitted in the hospital and is stable. After the RSI lodging a complaint, Ammoru was taken into custody. Police said that a case was filed in 2005 against the constable for threatening a person by firing gun in the air.

Meanwhile, Ammoru also lodged a complaint against the RSI stating that he was abused in the name of caste and often harassed for trivial reasons.
