Every year, the commuters face water logging problem at low bridge as the measures taken by officials fail to yield results. Electric generator installed at the low bridge near K Market to drain the rain water was out of order on Saturday. Consequently, the water stagnated at the low bridge disrupting the traffic.

The Municipal Commissioner also inspected Governorpet, Suryaraopet and other areas of the city and gave instructions to the VMC officials to ensure free passage of rain water through side drains. Similarly, water logged in Wynchpet, Mahantipuram and Gantapati Rao road in old city, Old RR Pet, Pinnamaneni Polyclinic road, Suryaraopet, Moghalrajpuram, Eluru road and other areas of the city.

Mayor Koneru Sridhar along with corporators and municipal officials inspected the outfall drain at the Nizam Gate Centre in Wynchpet on Saturday. The Mayor enquired about the progress of drainage works at the Nizam Gate Junction.

Thousands of people living in the low-lying area in Wynchpet face water logging problem. Rain water from nearby hill flows towards Nizam Gate outfall drain. Underground drain built under the railway tracks more than 80 years ago has not been modernised. This is the main problem for the stagnation of rain water in Wynchpet for many years.
