ACB arrests 5 brokers
According to ACB Srikakulam DSP K Ranga Raju, on reliable information a team of ACB officials conducted raid at the check-post and verified all records and vehicles from 9 pm to 1.30 am.
Srikakulam: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted surprise check at inter-State border check-post at Ichapuram on Friday late night and arrested five brokers and seized Rs 27,000 in cash.
According to ACB Srikakulam DSP K Ranga Raju, on reliable information a team of ACB officials conducted raid at the check-post and verified
all records and vehicles from 9 pm to 1.30 am.
The ACB team found five brokers at the check-post who were collecting amount from transport vehicle drivers without verifying records and goods.
They seized Rs 27,000 from commercial tax and agriculture market committee counters. At the time of the raid, Excise, Mines and Geology staff were not present at their counters. “We arrested the five brokers and sent report to government on illegal collection of money.
We also informed government about the absence of Excise and Mines department staff,” explained the ACB DSP.
