Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrabau Naidu said that he would make efforts to eradicate poverty and strive for economic upliftment of women. He said that he is ready to borrow money on 10 per cent interest for the welfare of women.

Addressing Nava Nirmana Deeksha programme, here on Saturday, the CM interacted with DWCRA women on welfare programmes and public distribution system to get their feedback.

A physically-challenged person Narasimham explained how he was benefited with Rs 1,500 pension scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that DWRCA women emerged as a strong force of the State and promised to waive the loans of DWCRA groups in coming years and sanction new loans to provide self employment opportunities.

He asked women to educate their children as development would be possible only through education and said the government has been implementing several welfare programmes, despite reeling under financial crisis.

Praising the confidence among women, the CM said he would be successful in developing AP with the cooperation of women.

Minister for Excise Kollu Ravindra, MPs Konakalla Narayana, Kesineni Srinivas, Women Commission chairman N Rajakumari, Ministers Pathipati Pulla Rao, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, MLAs Gade Rammohan, Sriramtataiah, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, MLC Budha Venkanna and officials were present.
