Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reiterated on Monday that the temporary Secretariat would start functioning from June 27 onwards and all the employees would be shifted to Amaravati very soon. He inspected the second and fifth blocks of the temporary Secretariat building at Velagapudi along with Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana, Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao and Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State government would provide all necessary facilities to the employees in the new Secretariat. Information will be disseminated to the departmental heads concerned to shift to the temporary Secratariat as soon as the construction work is completed here.
Naidu said, “When I shifted to Vijayawada, I had no office, I stayed in the bus. This is a newly formed State. There will be some problems. We will resolve the problems and provide necessary facilities like canteen, toilets and roads here.” All kinds of necessary facilities would be provided, he added. Engineers of the L & T and Shapoorji Pallonji companies briefed the Chief Minister regarding the progress of the construction works and assured him to get it completed within stipulated time.
Referring to the comments of the YSRCP supremo, Naidu said, “Jagan’s age is less than my experience in the politics. I have seen so many CMs and played key role in national politics for 10 years. I have worked as CM, but have never seen a Leader of the Opposition like Jagan.”
Lambasting Jagan’s derogatory comments, Naidu further said, “I have shown respect towards Kiran Kumar Reddy and K Rosaiah after they had become CMs. We should respect the CM.” Criticising his attitude strongly, Naidu further added, “Jaganmohan Reddy is behaving like a rowdy.” Naidu directed Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana to monitor the progress of temporary Secretariat works.
Following instructions of the Chief Minister, Narayana visited the temporary Secretariat three times in the last four days and has been regularly monitoring the progress of the construction work and briefing the same to the Chief Minsiter. The CRDA has already called for tenders to lay internal roads in the temporary Secretariat. Installation of electrical connections and interior decoration has already started.
The Chief Minister instructed the Collectors of Krishna and Guntur districts to provide necessary facilities to the shifting employees. The CRDA is laying eight roads to the temporary Secretariat buildings for smooth flow of traffic. Road widening work has been started in Tadikonda.
The APSRTC is ready to ply more buses to the temporary Secretariat from Vijayawada and Guntur. Employees working in the Marketing Commissioner’s and Agriculture Commissioner’s office will be shifted to Guntur by June 12 and 27 respectively.
