Visakhapatnam: Heads of various departments functioning in the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) have promised to expedite development works in the Agency by announcing their respective action plans at the Maha Sankalpam meeting on the concluding day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha at Paderu on Wednesday.

Deputy director of agriculture department Sankara Reddy disclosed that they would provide quality and chemically treated seeds, power tillers, tools and implements to encourage the crops like millets and foxtail millets in 1,000 acres in each scheduled mandal. Sericulture officer Parameswari said that mulberry crop will be extended to another 75 acres while the horticulture officer Raju said that coffee crop will be extended in 9,000 acres.

Animal husbandry department official Dr Radha Krishna said that 250 additional Ksheera Sagar units and a cattle shed in Koyyuru mandal will be set up next year.

Women and Child Welfare Department officer Lalitha Kumari, assistant project director of MHNREGS Latchanna, Additional DM&HO Dr Venkateswara Rao, tribal welfare, panchayat raj and rural water supply officials also announced their action plans of development.

The meeting was presided over by Sub-Collector Siva Sankar Lotheti, who administered the Maha Sankalpam pledge to all the officials and employees on the occasion.
