Kadapa: Six persons, including bus conductor, died and 21 injured, when an APSRTC bus returning to Kadapa from Bangalore went off the Guvvalacheruvu ghat road and fell into the valley 200 feet below.

The incident occurred at the fourth turning on the ghat road and initial reports cite brake failure as the reason. While two persons died on the spot, four others succumbed at the RIMS Hospital in here. The police and fire personnel immediately swung into action and shifted the injured to RIMS Hospital here.

Police pulled out a person who was almost crushed under the bus in a precarious operation. Many lives were saved because of the timely action by police, who lost no time in shifting the injured to the hospital.

Officer on Special Duty Satya Yesubabu, DSP of Kadapa Ashok Kumar, special party police personnel took part in the rescue operation.
