Speaking on the occasion, Ganta said that the State government has been implementing a unique strategy for strengthening the government schools on par with private schools to improve enrollment of students.

Chittoor: With an aim to make the State as knowledge society, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had introduced various unique schemes in education sector. The Minister participated in Badi Pilustondi programme organised at Aragonda ZP High School near here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganta said that the State government has been implementing a unique strategy for strengthening the government schools on par with private schools to improve enrollment of students.

It is the responsibility of District Educational Officers (DEOs) to enroll dropouts in schools,” he added.
He mentioned the government had taken a decision to provide basic amenities in all government schools with an outlay of Rs 500 crore during this academic year.

It was decided to distribute bicycles to 1.52 lakh girl students studying in the government schools by spending Rs 100 crore,” he said adding awareness should be created among parents for admitting their wards in government schools. He gave a call to teachers to play an important role in enrollment of girl students.

The Minister said that he had received numerous complaints from parents against the private schools for collecting hefty fees. A meeting will be convened with the managements of private schools and strategy will be devised soon, Ganta said.

ZP Chairperson Girvani said that the performance of the government schools is highly impressive. She stated that most of the teachers working in government schools are highly qualified and experienced.

She exuded confidence of government teachers improving the educational standards in schools. Joint Collector 2 Venkata Subba Reddy, DEO Nageswara Rao, SSA Project Officer S Lakshmi and others were present.
