Pithapuram: The amazing flowers which are locally known as ‘kadam’ bloomed at the temple of Tatiparthi Aparnadevi temple in Gollaprolu. All the trees on the temple premises blossom at a time every year. The annual puja for Nageswara Swamy along with Aparna Devi was organised on Friday with more than two hundred flowers.

Temple priest Akondi Prabhakara Sastry decorated the Goddess with these flowers. Neolamarckia cadamba, which is also known as bur flower-tree has scented orange flowers in thick ball-shaped clusters. The flowers are used for making perfumes.
