VMC to complete JNNURM housing units’ works
Keeping in view the urgent need for providing housing to the displaced families in the city, the VMC has decided to complete the pending
Vijayawada: Keeping in view the urgent need for providing housing to the displaced families in the city, the VMC has decided to complete the pending works of 16 housing blocks in Ajit Singh Nagar and Vambay Colony. As part of the JNNURM housing project, the VMC has started construction of G Plus 4 houses in Vambay Colony and Ajit Singh Nagar many years ago. But, the works of 16 blocks are pending for a long time.
The VMC Commissioner, G Veerapandian, on Saturday inspected the eight blocks at old STP plant in Ajit Singh Nagar and eight blocks at Power sub-station in Vambay Colony and instructed the officials to immediately arrange power supply, drinking water supply and other amenities in these blocks. He said accommodation can be provided to the beneficiaries with the speedy completion of the works. The VMC Superintending Engineer, G Adiseshu, Executive Engineer (housing) P Srinivas and other officials were present on the occasion.
