Visakhapatnam: The first batch of architects from GITAM School of Architecture was felicitated by university authorities in a colorful function organised on GITAM campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao greeted the passing out students and advised them to follow the professional ethics in architecture with regard to safety and building codes, societal responsibility, environmental issues and use of good material.

While addressing a gathering and, he stated that architectural design process is the scientific study of existing ideas and getting detail solution of a desired design.

GITAM University is giving top priority to bring the international standards in the professional programmes like architecture, he said and added that there was need for creativity and innovation in the field of architecture. He handed over the merit certificates and prizes to the students.

Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Visakhapatnam Chapter president S L N Sastry, 96 Design Group principal architect and urban designer Ashok Bhairi, GITAM School of Architecture director Prof K Mohan, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna, Registrar Prof M Potharaju and others participated in the programme.
