Speaking on the occasion, founder, K Naga Sravan said, “It is high time that youth take part in the country’s development and decision making.

To encourage youth to take part in the development of the community, Vijayawada based organisation ‘Vijayawada needs U’ organised a walk to start the campaign that will run till August 12, to commemorate International Youth Day. The walk began at Andhra Loyola College and concluded near PB Siddhartha College in Moghalrajpuram on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, founder, K Naga Sravan said, “It is high time that youth take part in the country’s development and decision making.

Youth form a big junk in the country yet their representation in policy making or politics is very negligible. We have carried out the campaign titled ‘Yuva Sankalpam’ to sensitise youth about the necessity to rise for our community.”

As a part of the programme, nearly 80 students and youth took a pledge and vowed to stand up for the development and be responsible. The organisation also demanded that government consult youth leaders or take into count suggestions from youth while drafting youth policy.

Sravan also mentioned that they would visit educational institutions in collaboration with youth organisations to spread the message.
