Call to people to take part in Bay Marathon
Collector N Yuvaraj appealed to the people to participate in Vizag Bay Marathon being conducted on July 2.
Visakhapatnam: Collector N Yuvaraj appealed to the people to participate in Vizag Bay Marathon being conducted on July 2.
He told reporters here on Wednesday that the Beach Road will be illuminated on the occasion and cultural events will be conducted all along the marathon route to entertain the participants.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the mega event at 7.30 pm and already about 5,000 persons have registered their names for participating in the event. All the participants will be given medals and this year they were organising half marathon only in the categories of 3, 5, 10 and 21 km Run.
He informed that the GVMC, city police, tourism department and Vizag Steel Plant were extending necessary help to organise the event. Chief event organiser Murali Nannapaneni said they were conducting the event to create awareness among the public about health.
