Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party national general secretary Nara Lokesh questioned why the Opposition parties are raising objections to the Swiss Challenge method to be implemented by State government for construction of new capital Amaravati.
“Swiss challenge is the common method used in many countries for inviting the bids and awarding the works,” he commented.
Speaking to mediapersons after distribution of Ramzan Tohfa gift packets to Muslims in Panja centre here on Wednesday, he accused the YSRCP of stalling development of the State.
“They raised objection when government announced new capital at Amaravati and again raised objections for construction of the temporary secretariat at Amaravati. What is wrong with Swiss Challenge,” he questioned.
He said that people would teach a fitting lesson to the Opposition party for creating hurdles for the development of the State.
