As far as fruit and vegetable waste vermi-compost is concerned, it will be of immense use as natural fertiliser.
The Nabard has also extended the date tor taking up construction of rural godowns for food grain storage for SC/ST social sections up to March 31, 2017.

Under this scheme, construction of rural godowns from 100 MT to 30,000 MT can avail 33 percent subsidy up to Rs 3 crore to the maximum extent. The construction can be taken up in rural and municipal areas only and will not be permitted in cities.

According to assistant general manager (AGM) of Nabard Dr K V S Prasad, the first two schemes-- bio fertiliser and pesticide units and the fruit and vegetable compost units-- are applicable to all social sections and the godowns scheme is strictly for SC/ST social sections.
