Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu pitched for investments in tourism, apart from other sectors during the last day of his five-day China visit at the Guizhou and Andhra Pradesh bilateral investment promotion summit held in Guiyang on Thursday.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu pitched for investments in tourism, apart from other sectors during the last day of his five-day China visit at the Guizhou and Andhra Pradesh bilateral investment promotion summit held in Guiyang on Thursday.
Addressing the summit in which 200 Chinese investors and companies participated, the Chief Minister said that the State tourism sector has an investment potential to the tune of 5 billion US dollars.
Naidu said that China had started reforms much ahead of India and developed infrastructure and increased living standards, and the future belongs to China and India because of the size of their population and market.
Appreciating the extraordinary works put in the development of Guiyang in a short span of five years, the Chief Minister said, “Chinese FDI inflows into India are at 1.25 billion US dollars. We need investments, technology and best practices from China and in turn India can contribute in IT and Pharmaceuticals,” he added.
Reiterating that AP was among the top growth driver in India, Naidu said that the State is a leader in power sector. “We would be adding 18,000 MW of renewable energy by 2019,” he said. Citing the steps taken by his government in the land pooling and for building the new capital city, he said that Japan, Singapore and United Kingdom were involved in the construction of the new state capital - Amaravati.
It would also offer a good opportunity for Chinese companies to invest and stressed on having a win-win partnership between the two provinces. Ma Lei, deputy director, Department of Commerce, Guizhou Province appreciated the initiatives of the Chief Minister.
He said “Our province has rich natural resources. AP and Guizhou have a lot of similarities. Our development paths are similar. AP is leader in IT and we are good in big data. Our cooperation will benefit both of our people,” he said.
Ma Lei further said that his government has been working on Big data, Big tourism, and Big industry and expressed interest to learn from AP’s experience in creating industrial parks. The Deputy Director also evinced interest in exchange of expertise between both the States and welcomed more people from India and AP to visit Guizhou and invest.
The delegation from AP includes Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, P Narayana, Dr Parakala Prabhakar advisor (Communications), J Krishna Kishore CEO EDB, P V Ramesh ex office special chief secretary, Sai Prasad principal secretary to CM, Ajay Jain principal secretary to Energy, Infrastructure Investments department, Solomon Arokia Raj secretary of Industries, Lakshmi Parthasarathy CMD of CCDM.
