Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party senior leader K Parthasarathi on Monday demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should own the responsibility for demolishing the temples and other places of worship and hurting the religious sentiments of the two communities across the State.

Addressing the press here, Parthasarathi said that the reaction of the Chief Minister towards the demolition drive expressed his indifference to such a sensitive issue and unveiled the inefficiency of his government.

Parthasarathi even accused Naidu of making meek attempts to shift the blame on others. Demolition of temples and mosques for road widening carries a secret agenda of safeguarding the interests of TDP leaders, he alleged.

The decade old temples which were demolished were not built in the centre of the roads. “Naidu should take the responsibility for the demolition and his ignorance divulges his inefficiency,” he added.
