At a meeting held with owners of hotels, lodges, houses and apartment association representatives here on Wednesday, Tirupati Urban SP R Jayalaskhmi dwelled at length on the new move of the urban police towards ensuring a foolproof security in the pilgrim city which was felt more than ever before in the context of growing crimes and also increased threat perception inĀ  Tirumala and Tirupati.

Tirupati: To make city safe, urban police initiated a process aimed at verification of the occupants of hotels, lodges and rented flats and houses in the pilgrim city.

At a meeting held with owners of hotels, lodges, houses and apartment association representatives here on Wednesday, Tirupati Urban SP R Jayalaskhmi dwelled at length on the new move of the urban police towards ensuring a foolproof security in the pilgrim city which was felt more than ever before in the context of growing crimes and also increased threat perception in
Tirumala and Tirupati.

The SP said installation of CCTV cameras is mandatory for all hotels, lodges and commercial establishments. She asked the lodge and hotel owners to collect full details of the persons and also thoroughly check their identities before letting the rooms. The SP also warned the hotel owners not to allow anti-social activities in their premises.

Jayalakshmi directed representatives of apartments to install CCTVs in every floor and also to employ a security man on round the clock basis to monitor the visitors’ arrival and departure.

Besides, the house owners should also take up voluntarily furnishing the details of the families to which their houses were rented out in a prescribed form to be provided by the urban police and submit them within two months in the police station concerned. Additional SPs MVS Swamy (Administration), Siddha Reddy (Crime), East DSP KV Muralikrishna, CIs and SIs were present.
