Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu began his Russia visit by participating in the INNOPROM-2016 inaugurated on a grand note at Yakaterinburg in Russia on Sunday.

The Chief Minister concluded his tour in Kazakhstan on Sunday and left for Russia with Ministers and officials. It may be noted Naidu began his Kazakhstan and Russia tour on Saturday.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Rajasthan chief Minister Vasundhara Raje are other participants in mega event. India is the partnership country for the event, while China acted as partnership country for INNOPROM, last year and Japan will be partnership country for the next year.

The theme of INNOPROM this year is ‘Industry + Internet’ and the main focus of the exhibition will be on 3D printing and digital design. Delivering welcome address the Russian Trade Industry Minister Denis Manturov said world is now transitioning to new industrial revolution. He predicted the sector to reach 500 billion dollars by the year 2020.

The Russian Minister said the INNOPROM will transform industry and manufacturing sectors a lot in the coming years. He said this meet will be a platform for networking and exchange of business and ideas among the nations of the world.

To mark India's participation as partnership country several Indian classical dances were performed at the inaugural event. Addressing the meeting on behalf of India, Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said, despite global economic slowdown, India has registered a growth rate of 7.6 per cent and more growth is expected under Modi's leadership.

She said Indian industrialists will forge good relations with global industrial giants. Earlier Indian ambassador in Russia Pankaj Saran explained economic and political situation in Russia to the visiting delegates.
