Vijayawada: South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta visited various railway stations in and around Vijayawada on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of Krishna Pushkaralu works.

Accompanied by Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar and other officials, the SCR GM visited Madhuranagar railway station first.

He inspected the platform widening and other development works at the railway station. He directed the railway officials to ensure the completion of all development works well before the deadline.

He also inspected the railway station approach road works at Gunadala. The DRM informed the SCR GM that all the infrastructure development works were nearing completion at Gunadala.

Later, the SCR GM inspected Rayanapadu railway station, which is expected to see a significant increase in footfalls during Krishna Pushkaralu.

He said additional booking counters should be planned at the railway station during Pushkaralu to ensure that train passengers are not put to any inconvenience.

He also suggested that the platform length at Rayanapadu be extended to accommodate longer trains. The SCR GM concluded his inspection with the visit of Krishna Canal Junction station.
