MLA pays surprise visit to thermal plant

​Nellore: Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy paid a surprise visit to Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Plant at Nelatur on Friday. The plant officials explained the MLA about the safety measures being followed in the plant.

Kakani made a surprise visit in connection with a worker’s death on Thursday. The plant officials informed MLA that Rs 15 lakh compensation was paid to the family of the deceased.

Speaking to the media, the MLA said more workers were losing lives in thermal plants. He said it was the responsibility of thermal plant officials to provide employment to locals, who handed over their farm lands for thermal plants.
