29 held in cordon, search drive
Acting on credible information on the presence of anti-social and suspicious persons at Jeevakona area in the city, police conducted a cordon and search leading to seizure of 26 two-wheelers and custody of 29 persons for inquiry, on Sunday.

The massive search operation, under the supervision of Tirupati Additional SP (administration) Swamy went on for three hours from 1 am
to 4 pm in the early hours of Sunday at Rajiv Nagar and Kranthi Nagar locality of Jeevakona. About 850 police personnel including 7
DSPs, 12 CIs, 58 SIs--ASIs divided into 40 search parties, 80 cut-off parties and 4 dump parties were involved in the massive exercise,
undertaking house to house inquiry of persons and also verification of vehicle documents.
Out of 29 persons, who were taken into custody for inquiry, there were also three history-sheeters.
