Nandagopan to take over as NSTL Director
Scientist-G Dr R Nandagopan would take over as Director of Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) on
Visakhapatnam: Scientist-G Dr R Nandagopan would take over as Director of Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) on
August 1 as present Director Dr C D Malleswar retired from service here on Sunday. An accomplished mechanical engineer and alumnus
of Madurai Kamaraj and Anna Universities, Dr Nandagopan would bring his rich experience of three decades to the NSTL in developing
the state-of-the-art underwater systems for DRDO.
In his earlier tenure of nearly 30 years at the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Dr Nandagopan spearheaded design
and development of many sonar and oceanography projects. He has been credited with providing innovative solutions for problems
related to operation and maintenance of sonar systems by providing unique and customised engineering solutions.
He is the recipient of number of awards, including the prestigious DRDO Scientist of the Year Award-2014 and Mechanical Engineering
Award-2010 from the Institution of Engineers India given for his outstanding contributions in the field of mechanical engineering design.
