South Coastal Inspector General (IG) N Sanjay held a traffic coordination meeting on Friday evening with chamber of commerce, drivers associations and commercial organisations for supporting the cause of avoiding human loss during the Pushkaralu.

Speaking on the occasion, the IG directed all police officials to take support from other departments to regulate the traffic during mega religious event. He said that they had identified 60 to 70 holding areas in three districts and selected 10 in each district considering availability of land.

Sanjay said that the first 3 to 4 days of Pushkaralu would be very crucial this time as more devotees prefer to take holy dip due to holidays.

A command control has been set up in Vijayawada which would monitor the traffic flow with drone cameras. He sought cooperation from traders, truck operators and members of chamber of commerce and others for conducting the rare event in a smooth way.
