Speaking to mediapersons in Guntur on Thursday, the Minister said so far 1,200 people were shifted to the relief centres. “In the line with the directives of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the district administration will extend financial assistance of Rs 3,800 to every rain-affected family for purchasing utensils and clothes. We will also distribute 20 kg rice and five litres of kerosene,” he informed.

Pulla Rao inspected the crop damage in Palnadu region on Thursday. He said that officials would start enumeration after flood water recedes. “The report on the crop loss assessment will be submitted to the Chief Minister,” the Minister said, adding “Justice will be done to farmers.”

The Minister said there was no water in Nagarjunasagar reservoir to provide water to Nagarjunasagar ayacut area of Guntur district. “Krishna River Board Management will take a decision, if the reservoir gets water,” he said.

Referring to municipal elections, Pulla Rao said Chief Minister was in favour of conducting polls by the end of November. “The officials are updating voters list and completing the delimitation process,” he stated. Pulla Rao accused YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy of obstructing construction of capital by challenging Swiss Challenge method in courts.
