The State government made plans to develop green corridors around Amaravati capital city from Hyderabad-Vijayawada-Guntur stretch to draw the attention of visitors and foreign investors who visit the new capital location. Right now, the government is finalising tenders for Vijayawada-Guntur stretch at a cost of Rs 15 crore and the entire corridor will be developed as three stretches.

​Amaravati: The State government made plans to develop green corridors around Amaravati capital city from Hyderabad-Vijayawada-Guntur stretch to draw the attention of visitors and foreign investors who visit the new capital location. Right now, the government is finalising tenders for Vijayawada-Guntur stretch at a cost of Rs 15 crore and the entire corridor will be developed as three stretches.

Already, Vijayawada-Gannavaram stretch has been developed as green corridor under beautification project and CRDA is making designs to establish green corridors from Guntur to Vijayawada and Nandigama to Vijayawada.

  • Even the temporary Secretariat complex and the CM’s office will be beautified

The State government's main motive is to make the city entrance road stretches beautiful as much as green. Initially, the government had spent Rs 2.5 crore for Gannavaram-Vijayawada corridor.

In future, visitors who come from Chennai-Guntur and Hyderabad-Howrah to Amaravati capital will be welcomed with greenery and beautiful plants.

Already, the designs of green corridors with development of beautiful flowers plants has been allotted to various foreign consultants. The State government's Horticulture department is making plans along with private consultants.

A CRDA senior official on condition of anonymity said that one big welcoming arch is proposed at Nandigama for visitors who come from Hyderabad and said that from Undavalli and Mangalagiri stretch to Velagapudi will be developed after completion of proposed axis road.

He said even the temporary Secretariat complex will turn green in next few days since the work has been initiated and added that two parks are also to be developed near the CM's office. Similarly, water fountains will be setup in the parks and Assembly building will also be beautified, he added.
