The nurses were taught about sterilization of instruments, maintenance of equipment, pre-natal care, intra-natal care, post-natal care, neo-natal care and sanitation. The UNICEF team gave an audio- visual presentation in accordance with the guidelines of the National Health Mission. 

Visakhapatnam: A training programme for the 31 newly recruited 31 staff nurses of the King George Hospital by the UNICEF team and KGH faculty began here on Tuesday. Hospital Superintendent Dr G Arjuna while welcoming the new recruitees advised them to render quality service to pregnant women to ensure safe deliveries and to post-natal mothers and infants. He asked the sanitation agency and the staff nurses to always keep the labour room spick and span.

The nurses were taught about sterilization of instruments, maintenance of equipment, pre-natal care, intra-natal care, post-natal care, neo-natal care and sanitation. The UNICEF team gave an audio- visual presentation in accordance with the guidelines of the National Health Mission.

Dr Arjuna informed that a similar training program would be conducted for all medical, para-medical and non-medical personnel, in phases to ensure the best possible healthcare to the public.CS RMO Dr K G L G Sastry, Nursing Superintendent Jyothi, UNICEF representative Dr Jitender Chouhan, hospital administrator Umamaheswar and quality control manager Sruthi attended the training programme.
