Cyclone Kyant set to dissipate
Cyclone Kyant, which had weakened into a depression and moved over west-central Bay of Bengal with a speed of 10 km per hour, and reduced to a well-marked low pressure area, according to the Indian Meteorological Department on Friday.

The low pressure area would further move in southwest direction and dissipate gradually, the IMD said. However, squally winds speeding at 35 km to 45 km per hour swept across Coastal Andhra. Many places along the coast recorded spells of light to moderate rainfall on Friday.
Light to moderate rains will continue along the south coasts of the State till Sunday, IMD said. The sea remained moderately rough along the coasts of the state.
While the fishermen were given a green signal to venture out, they were warned to be cautious till the turbulance dies down completely.
Meanwhile, the final One Day International match between India and New Zealand, scheduled to be conducted at the ACA-VDCA stadium on Saturday will go on uniterrupted as previously fixed, said CR Mohan, media relations manager, Andhra Cricket Association.
The match was earlier feared to be obstructed by rains, when threat from cyclone Kyant was looming. Now, with the cyclone threat dispelled, the match is expected to go on unobstructed.
