Visakhapatnam: In an attempt to contain the school drop-out rate and to ensure academic continuity in the Agency areas, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Paderu has taken an initiative of paying Rs 500 to each student attending to schools soon after completion of Dasara and Pongal vacations, informed in-charge project officer Siva Sankar Lotheti.

He told reporters here on Wednesday that the initiative has encouraged as many as 1,000 students to continue their education after the vacations.

Siva Sankar said to tap the hidden skills and to improve personality of tribal students, they have introduced a new concept of ‘Nela Nela Vennela’ programme.
