Stiff competition likely in IIIT admissions
Notification for IIIT admissions has been released for the six year course and the qualified candidates started applying for admission online. Compared to last year, there would be a stiff competition as the candidates who had secured 10 out of 10 GPA are more in number. In all, 18,225 candidates have secured 10/10 GPA for the year 2017.
There will be 1,000 seats per each IIIT Vijayawada: Notification for IIIT admissions has been released for the six year course and the qualified candidates started applying for admission online. Compared to last year, there would be a stiff competition as the candidates who had secured 10 out of 10 GPA are more in number. In all, 18,225 candidates have secured 10/10 GPA for the year 2017.
IIIT Nuzvid director Prof V Venkata Dasu told 'The Hans India' that there would be a common admission process for all the four IIIT colleges at the Nuzvid campus. He said that the online applications would be received till June 5. The admission process for the Srikakulam, RK Valley and Ongole colleges would be held at Nuzvid.
He said that for this year admissions, the subject-wise marks would play a major role to secure admission. In case of tie, the subject marks would be very crucial to get an admission.He added that in the case of tie, the subject-wise GPA would be taken into consideration. Mathematics marks would be considered first, and then science marks, and English, social, first language GPA marks would be considered.
In some cases, date of birth would be considered and the elder candidate would be given the chance, he added.
He said that 500 students would be called for the counselling every day. All facilities would be provided for the candidates and their parents. Subsidised food would be provided, besides shelter and washroom facilities. He said that bus facility was available from Vijayawada and Gannavaram to Nuzvid.
