The APSSDC and its training partner QSpiders organised a recruitment drive at Prakasam Engineering College in Kandukur for freshers and earlier passed out engineering graduates in the district.

Kandukur: The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has announced that it will train 1.15 lakh engineering and polytechnic graduates for the academic year 2017-18. The APSSDC and its training partner QSpiders organised a recruitment drive at Prakasam Engineering College in Kandukur for freshers and earlier passed out engineering graduates in the district.

Angel Saxby, senior manager and corporate coordinator of APSSDC, said that the corporation offers two to three months of free training by its partners like QSpiders in the areas like Java programming and testing and assists the candidates in getting a job. The charges for this incubation period, about Rs 25,000 would be borne by the APSSDC itself. She said that APSSDC’s divisions operate in various areas like engineering, polytechnic, regular graduation, post graduation like MBA, unorganised sector and school education.

She told that the engineering division in the APSSDC has a target of training 11,5000 candidates in 2017-18, with employment opportunities in various organisations in the state, India and abroad.Kancharla Ramaiah, secretary, and correspondent of Prakasam Engineering College said that around 110 students from across the state attended the drive and 67 have been shortlisted after the online aptitude test for the group discussion. In them, 34 selected students were given offer letters on the spot.
