3 contenders vie for East Godavari TDP chief post
Three names have been doing the rounds for East Godavari TDP president post for which the election is to be conducted on Sunday. The district chief post holds significance in view of the two days TDP Mini Mahamadu at Prathipadu on May 23 and 24 and the three day party state Mahanadu at Visakhapatnam from May 27 to 29 .

According to party circles, East Godavari ZP chair person Namana Rambabu, senior party leader and four term MLA from Kothapeta in Konaseema area of the district Bandaru Satyananda Rao , senior party leader Gangumalla Satyanarayana known to be loyalist of AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in the forefront for the coveted post.
The post has been lying vacant for the last one and half years following the sudden demise of Parvatha Sri Satyanarayana Murthy alias Chittibabu. Though the issue is said to have surfaced at district level meets of party leaders on number of occasions, no name was finalised till now. It is said that the TDP leadership waited for the completion of the migration of two MLAs from YSRC first and then said to have taken a decision to opt for new incumbent.
As far as Namana Rambabu is concerned rumours are doing rounds that he will be entrusted with district party chief post ahead of the other two. It is also said that he will be relinquished from the post of ZP chairman post soon and in his place Jyotula Naveen ZPTC member from Jaggampeta who joined TDP from YSRC along with his father and Jaggampeta MLA, Jyotula Nehru will be chosen for the post as per the understanding reached at the time of joining of the latter in TDP .
Varupula Subba Rao, Prathipadu MLA and co brother of Jyotula Nehru who joined TDP along with the latter said that that it is strongly believed that Jyotula Naveen would be the ZP chair person soon as per the understanding reached at the time of joining of MLA Jyotula Nehru in to TDP fold .
