Tearful adieu to Narayana Reddy
Amidst thousands of supporters and followers of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and family members, the final rites of YSRCP leader Narayana Reddy were performed at his native place Cherukulapadu on Monday. Pattikonda YSRCP in-charge Narayana Reddy and his close aide Sambasivudu were hacked to death by unknown miscreants at Ramakrishnapuram on Sunday.

YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and several other party leaders have attended the funeral of Narayana Reddy and paid tributes. Speaking to the media, Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government is encouraging faction murders in the district. Narayana Reddy's murder is a pre-planned one, he stated.
YS Jagan said that the YSRCP leaders were murdered in a short span of 15 days in the district. He slammed the district police for suppporting the TDP leaders instead of protecting the people.
It is clearly evident that Narayana Reddy’s licensed pistol was not renewed by the police despite of his several requests, the YSRCP leader said. The police even did not turn up to the killing spot for two to three hours to collect the clues of the accused. The police intentionally delayed to reach the spot immediately because the accused could be given time to erase the clues, blamed Jaganmohan Reddy.
The YSRCP leader assured that he will stand by the bereaved family at all times. Narayana Reddy’s wife Sridevi Reddy, and her daughter and son were seen weeping inconsolably. Jagan told the family members that the party would stand by them and extend all support to them. Narayana Reddy’s daughter Sneha Reddy, who is studying MBBS, was also consoled by Jaganmohan Reddy.
Reacting on the allegations of his family members involved in the murders of Narayana Reddy and Sambasivudu, Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy denied their family involvement in the murders. Speaking to the media in Vijayawada, Krishnamurthy said that his family members don’t have any rivalry with Narayana Reddy. He stated that he and his family members are ready to face probe.
